Self-piercing riveting (SPR) is a cold joining technique that eliminates the need for pre-drilled holes. The rivet penetrates the upper layer of material and undergoes plastic deformation in the lower layer to form a mechanical interlock. This technology is widely applied in automotive lightweighting, aerospace, and the manufacturing of multi-material composite structures.Widely used in cold joining applications for sheet materials, including new energy vehicle (NEV) body-in-white (BIW), battery packs, and aerospace structures.
