The Indonesian auto market has great potential with favorable incentives, it had driven a significant rise in auto production and sales. The local government plans to provide a subsidy of up to IDR 80 million (about USD 5,130) for each EV produced in Indonesia and expect to triple the sales of EVs by 2030.  As part of the plan to reduce carbon emissions of the largest economy in Southeast Asia, the new subsidy policy is expected to stimulate automobile sales and encourage more EV manufacturers to invest in Indonesia.

At present, Indonesia has yet to improve its essential equipment and technology for auto manufacturing, leaving a considerable gap when compared to the global level. In contrast, countries with established auto industries, including China, Japan, and South Korea, have already developed very mature technical indicators of auto manufacturing equipment. The demand for technology and equipment upgrading and transformation in Indonesia and other Southeast Asian countries will create huge business opportunities. AMTS Indonesia will facilitate trade, exchanges, and technology development related to automobiles and parts in Southeast Asia.
